Abstract: Industrial dewatering systems deployed in hazardous environments such as mines, construction sites, and flood management zones require continuous monitoring to ensure operational safety and worker protection. This paper presents a LoRa-based real-time worker safety monitoring and adaptive emergency control system designed for smart industrial dewatering applications. The proposed system integrates multiple sensors, including inertial measurement units (IMUs) for fall detection, gas sensors for environmental hazard monitoring, and current and voltage sensing modules for pump health analysis. A BLDC pump-based dewatering unit is interfaced with a microcontroller, enabling intelligent control during abnormal conditions. Long Range (LoRa) communication is employed to transmit real-time data over extended distances with low power consumption, making the system suitable for remote and infrastructure-limited environments. Unlike conventional monitoring systems, the proposed design incorporates adaptive emergency response mechanisms, in which system actions such as pump shutdown, alarm triggering, and alert transmission are automatically executed based on predefined safety thresholds. The system operates without relying on machine learning models, thereby ensuring low computational overhead and improved reliability on resource-constrained embedded platforms. Experimental validation demonstrates that the system effectively detects worker falls, hazardous gas presence, and pump anomalies while maintaining stable long-range communication. The proposed solution offers a cost-effective, scalable, and energy-efficient approach to enhancing worker safety and operational reliability in industrial dewatering systems.
