Abstract: This patent application details a longitudinal tooth model for quantitative analysis in dentin remineralization studies by simulating active pulpal fluid circulation. To prepare the model, a non-carious mandibular molar's crown is sectioned 0.5 mm above the pulpal roof, and 3 mm of the apical root is resected to enhance fluid movement. Pulp tissue is removed via retrograde instrumentation. The specimen is mounted root-up in a cylindrical silicone mould using self-cure acrylic resin up to the cementoenamel junction. The remaining mould space is filled with addition silicone putty, enabling easy removal and exact physical reconnection across experimental intervals. The exposed occlusal dentin is polished using 600- to 1200-grit abrasive papers. After baseline microhardness recording and fluid diffusion confirmation, the dentin undergoes cyclic demineralization and remineralization under continuous simulated body fluid circulation. This framework permits longitudinal, quantitative evaluation of microhardness, dentinal permeability, and tubular occlusion across multiple time intervals.
