MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611061769 A) filed by Galaxy Holdings Ltd. on May 15, 2026, for Locking Device Integrated Into Lid To Prevent Liquid Ingress In Modular Containers And Method Thereof.

Inventor includes Manoj Sadhuram Shivnani.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed herein provides a modular container (100) designed to prevent liquid ingress, comprising a base (102) configured as a pallet, potentially reinforced with a metal frame, and at least one side wall (104) shaped to fit into a continuous groove along the perimeter of the pallet (102). The container is sealed from above by a lid (106) featuring a perimeter groove for receiving the upper edge of the side wall (104). Central to its liquid-resistant capability is an integrated locking device (108) on the lid. A dome-shaped lock housing (108-H), protruding beyond the flange’s perimeter, houses a locking element (108-L) that engages with corresponding openings on the container side wall (104), securing the lid (106) in place. Multiple drainage gaps (108-G) are positioned on the lateral sides of the lock housing (108-H) to facilitate liquid drainage. The combined design of the flange (106-F), lock housing (108-H), locking element (108-L), and drainage gaps (108-G) provides an effective liquid-resistant barrier, significantly enhancing the container’s protection against liquid ingress.
