MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641119682 A) filed by Prahlad Kumar Sharma on October 06, 2026, for Location-Bound Media Capture With Embedded Machine-Readable Navigation Locator And Optical Verification.
Inventor includes Prahlad Kumar Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: A location-bound media capture system and method are disclosed. A camera application acquires a geographic fix from a positioning receiver and builds a versioned, provider-neutral location link containing coordinates and optional accuracy, timestamp, label and creator code. The link is rendered as a QR code that is composited into the pixels of every captured photograph and every frame of recorded video at a fixed normalised corner, so that the location survives removal of hidden metadata, compression, forwarding and printing. Scanning the visible code opens a page from which the viewer selects an installed map, navigation or ride application, with a web fallback. For existing images, embedded coordinates are read and the code is placed in the quietest corner by edge-energy analysis. A verifier confirms that the burned-in code decodes to the intended location. Storage is local-first and offline-capable, and synchronisation uses scoped expiring deletion tombstones
