MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064066 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education on May 21, 2026, for Load Responsive Ceiling Fan Safety Monitoring And Emergency Alert System.
Inventors include Dr. S. Shasi Anand; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: Title: LOAD RESPONSIVE CEILING FAN SAFETY MONITORING AND EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM The titled invention discloses a load responsive ceiling fan safety monitoring and emergency alert system comprising a ceiling fan mounting safety assembly (1), a protective outer housing (2), an upper ceiling attachment clamp (3), a lower fan rod support bracket (4), and a load sensing unit (5) configured to detect load acting on a ceiling fan support structure. A weight calibration module (6) stores normal operational fan weight during installation configuration. A control circuit unit (7). a signal processing unit (14), and a threshold detection unit (15) compare detected load values with predefined safety limits for identifying abnormal hanging load conditions. Upon detection of excessive load conditions, an emergency alert transmission unit (9) activates a wireless communication module (8) for transmitting warning notifications to predefined receiving devices. The invention includes a fan suspension rod receiving portion (12), fastening bolts and nuts (11), a status indicator section (13), and a power supply unit (10) for maintaining continuous monitoring operation. The invention is configured in a structure substantially similar to a conventional ceiling fan hook arrangement for installation in existing buildings without structural modification. The invention enables rapid emergency response in hostels, hospitals, dormitories, residential rooms, and monitored accommodation facilities.
