MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088575 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on July 21, 2026, for Load-Adaptive Spiral Textile Bag With Bio-Composite Yarn And Shape-Memory Ribs, And Method Of Manufacture.

Inventors include Himanshi Singla; and Indrajeet Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: A load-adaptive spiral textile bag, a bio-composite yarn and a method of manufacture are disclosed. A spiral cord body of the bio-composite yarn is knotted with torsion-graded zones, an inner zone of higher torsion, a mid zone of balanced tension and an outer zone of lower torsion, giving controlled radial expansion under load. Radial shape-memory ribs integrated at angularly spaced positions retain shape and resist sagging without a rigid plastic frame, so the body expands under load and recovers shape on unloading. The bio-composite yarn of wool, regenerated cellulose and a bio-elastic filament cooperates, the wool giving crimp memory, the cellulose strength and the filament stretch recovery. A detachable modular inner pod docks at reinforced-knot nodes for washability, an elastic bead-core strap distributes load, and an interlocking knot grid permits tool-less repair.
