MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106012 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on September 03, 2026, for Light Sensitive Humanoid Robot Head.

Inventors include M. Reddaiah; Dr. T. Sathish; and Dr Ramya Mohan.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The Light Sensitive Humanoid Robot is an intelligent robotic system designed to detect and respond to light sources in its surrounding environment. This project integrates light-dependent resistors (LDRs) with a microcontroller to enable the humanoid robot to sense variations in light intensity and move accordingly. When light falls on the sensors, the resistance of the LDR changes, and this signal is processed by the controller to control the motors of the humanoid robot. The robot is programmed to follow light, avoid excessive brightness, or perform predefined movements based on light direction and intensity. This behavior mimics basic human sensory response, making the robot more interactive and adaptive. The system uses simple electronic components such as LDR sensors, motor drivers, DC motors, and a power supply, making it cost-effective and easy to implement. The Light Sensitive Humanoid Robot demonstrates the practical application of sensors, embedded systems, and robotics. It can be used for educational purposes, research, and as a foundation for advanced humanoid robots with vision and artificial intelligence. This project highlights the mportance of sensor-based automation and human—robot interaction in modern robotic systems.
