MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617062787 A) filed by Webasto Se; and Fpt Robotik Gmbh & Co. Kg on May 18, 2026, for Light-Conductive Substrate With A Light Outcoupling Structure.
Inventors include Kiesewetter, Frank; Schlarb, Julian; and Spiering, Tim.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to a substrate (1) which is formed of a light-conductive material in planar form with a first main surface (2) and an opposite second main surface (3) and has a light outcoupling structure (23) applied to the first main surface (2), wherein light which is coupled into the substrate (1) via light incoupling at at least one edge region (15) of the substrate (1) exits the substrate (1) via the second main surface (3) via light outcoupling effected by means of the light outcoupling structure (23), wherein the light outcoupling structure (23) has light-outcoupling structure points (24) applied to the substrate (1) which are formed of ink drops (25) produced from a light-reflecting ink. According to the invention, some or all of the ink drops (25) of the light outcoupling structure (23) have an irregularly shaped structure (32) at the drop circumference (29).
