Abstract: The present disclosure relates to lever-type connector assemblies. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a plug connector for being mated with a mating connector, to the mating connector, the connector assembly, and to a method of mating a connector assembly. A plug connector for being mated with a mating connector (104, 204, 304) comprises a rotatable lever (110, 210, 310), which is operable to be rotated between an unlocked position and a locked position; and a first housing (106, 206, 306) comprising a pivot bearing (108, 208, 308) for rotatably supporting the rotatable lever (110, 210, 310). The lever (110, 210, 310) comprises an actuating element (116, 216; 316, 332), which is engageable with a driving element (122, 222, 323) arranged at the mating connector (104, 204, 304), the actuating element (116, 216; 316, 332) being operable to un-mate the plug connector (102, 202), 302 from the mating connector (104, 204, 304) by rotating the lever (110, 210, 310) from the locked position into the unlocked position, wherein the rotatable lever (110, 210, 310) has latching means, which are operable to lock the plug connector (102, 202, 302) at a corresponding locking element of the mating connector without rotating the lever, when the lever (110, 210, 310) is in the locking position.
