Abstract: The present invention relates to a legal classifier system for crimes, by combining artificial intelligence with established international legal frameworks. The system incorporates a Natural Language Processing (NLP) module to extract factual elements from diverse unstructured sources such as eyewitness accounts, satellite imagery metadata, and social media content. These extracted features are evaluated against a Legal Knowledge Base (LKB) containing structured representations of international humanitarian law, including treaties, statutes, and tribunal jurisprudence. A Machine Learning Classification Engine, trained on annotated historical war crime cases, applies relevant legal standards to categorize incidents as war crimes, crimes against humanity, or genocide. At the same time, a contextual filtering module adjusts classifications based on conflict type and jurisdictional considerations. To ensure transparency, an explanation generator produces human-readable rationales with references to applicable legal provisions and precedents. Additionally, a confidence scoring mechanism indicates the certainty of each classification.
