Abstract: LC-ISD-V2P - An Experimental Prototype on Low-Cost Intelligent Signaling Display (LC-ISD) for Indian Traffic Context – A Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) Communication Approach. The present invention relates to a vehicle-to-pedestrian communication system configured to communicate real-time vehicle intent using visual and auditory signaling mechanisms. The system comprises a monocular camera, a processing unit, a control interface, a display module, and an audio output module. The processing unit determines pedestrian distance using monocular geometric estimation and identifies spatial position within an image frame. Based on the determined distance and position, the control interface activates a multi-state visual display and generates directional audio signals to convey vehicle intent. The system operates independently of external communication devices and eliminates the need for high-cost sensing hardware, thereby providing a low-cost and effective solution for real-time pedestrian communication.
