MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647092359 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated on July 30, 2026, for Layer 3 Filtering Configuration With Measurement Gap Occasion Deactivation.

Inventors include Zhou, Zhichao; Maamari, Diana; Park, Changhwan; and Xu, Huilin.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. For example, a network node may adapt filter coefficients that a UE uses for layer 3 (L3) filtering and generation of a measurement report in scenarios in which the UE has skipped one or more measurement gap occasions. In some aspects, the network node may provide signaling indicating whether to adapt or reset filtering coefficients in scenarios in which the UE has skipped one or more measurement gap occasions. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may dynamically adapt one or more filtering coefficients associated with measured channel conditions. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may interpolate one or more skipped layer 1 (L1) measurements, and use the interpolated one or more skipped L1 measurements for determining L3 filtering coefficients.
