MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611093243 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering And Technology Niet on July 31, 2026, for Latency-Aware Multi-Modal Sensing And Avatar Rendering System For Extended Reality Over 5g.
Inventors include Neha; and Dr. Niraj Agrawal.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides a latency-aware multi-modal sensing and avatar rendering system (100) for extended reality over fifth-generation networks. The system integrates a fifth-generation millimeter-wave integrated sensing and communication transceiver module (110) for body-level pose sensing using power-per-beam-pair tensors, a wearable sensor assembly (120) with surface electromyography sensors and inertial measurement units for finger-level gesture capture, and a latency management module (130) with a dual-branch predictive motion compensator combining a gated recurrent unit network with an extended Kalman filter. A hierarchical multi-modal fusion engine (140) merges body-level and finger-level data into a unified sixty-one-joint skeletal pose. An avatar rendering pipeline (150) on an edge computing platform (160) renders real-time avatar frames. A dynamic resource allocator (164) adjusts fifth-generation airtime between sensing and communication using reinforcement learning with quality-of-experience feedback, maintaining sub-twenty-millisecond motion-to-photon latency.
