Abstract: ABSTRACT LATENCY-AWARE HEURISTIC TASK SCHEDULING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZED RESOURCE ALLOCATION IN CLOUD COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTS The present invention discloses a latency-aware heuristic task scheduling system and method (100) for optimized resource allocation in cloud computing environments. The system comprises a workload ingestion module (120) that transforms structured task data into simulation-compatible cloudlets, a cloud infrastructure simulation module (130) with a datacenter (132), physical hosts (134), and virtual machines (140), a scheduling engine (150) implementing First Come First Serve, Round Robin, and a latency-aware heuristic strategy (156), and a performance evaluation module (170). The latency-aware heuristic strategy (156) computes a composite latency score for each task-virtual machine pair using a weighted formula combining estimated execution time, virtual machine waiting time, and queue length. Each task is assigned to the virtual machine yielding the minimum latency score. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed heuristic achieves makespan of 252 units and CPU utilization of 88.89 percent, significantly outperforming Round Robin. [
