MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088043 A) filed by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College on July 18, 2026, for Large-Size Multi-Material Three-Dimensional Printing Apparatus And Working Method Thereof.

Inventor includes Dr. Pradeep- Jain.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a large-size multi-material three-dimensional printing apparatus (100) and a working method thereof. The apparatus comprises a structural frame (102), a CoreXY planar motion assembly (104), a Z-axis vertical lift assembly (120), a build platform (128) having independently controllable heating zones (130), a multi-material extrusion head assembly (134) including a detachable clamp mechanism (136) for interchangeable extruder units (138), an indirect material feed mechanism (140), and a control architecture including a central control unit (156) and a CNC material-deposition controller (170). The control architecture coordinates motion control, material selection, extrusion, and selective bed heating to fabricate large-size monolithic objects using multiple materials while reducing moving mass, vibration, energy consumption, and thermal deformation. The corresponding working method enables automated multi-material deposition with dynamic extruder selection, layer-wise printing, and selective thermal regulation for improved dimensional accuracy and printing efficiency.
