Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of intelligent electronic security systems, and more specifically to a laptop theft detection method, a theft detection module, a user alert module, an electronic device, and a computer-readable storage medium. An automatic laptop theft alert system for enhancing portable electronic device security using a wireless proximity-based approach. A Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication mechanism has been proposed for performing effective unauthorized movement detection. More particularly, the invention enables real-time monitoring of the connection between a protected laptop and an authorized user module, wherein separation beyond a predefined threshold distance triggers an alarm activation sequence. The system can be applied in various environments including educational institutions, offices, libraries, public transport systems, airports, and other shared public spaces where portable electronic devices are vulnerable to theft.
