Abstract: A laptop battery charging device, comprising a power input interface to receive external electrical power, a power conversion stage to provide a regulated charging output for a computing unit, a sensing stage to acquire battery-related signals comprising at least battery voltage and optionally battery current and battery temperature, and optionally to receive battery state information from a computing unit battery management unit via a communication interface, a state-of-charge estimation unit to compute a state-of-charge value using a machine-learning model based on the battery-related signals, a display interface to display the computed state-of-charge value and a charging status on an OLED display, a controllable output switch to disconnect the charging output when the computed state-of-charge value reaches an upper threshold, an audible alert unit to provide audible notifications for at least charging start, charging completion, plug-in/plug-out, and abnormal charging conditions.
