Abstract: ABSTRACT Landmine Detection Robot The present invention relates to an Autonomous Landmine Detection Robot designed to safely identify buried metallic landmines using a multi-sensor fusion approach. The system integrates a metal detector module for detecting electromagnetic disturbances beneath the soil and an infrared (IR) sensor for verifying thermal anomalies associated with potential explosive devices. The robotic platform operates autonomously, reducing direct human involvement in hazardous minefield environments. The invention incorporates an ESP32 microcontroller as a centralized processing unit that manages sensor data acquisition, decision-making algorithms, navigation control, and wireless communication. A Neo-6M GPS module records precise latitude and longitude coordinates of detected landmines. Upon confirmation through dual-sensor validation, the system transmits real-time hazard alerts and location data to a remote operator via Wi-Fi using a Telegram Bot interface. An ultrasonic sensor ensures obstacle detection and safe navigation across uneven terrain. The proposed system provides a cost- effective and safer alternative to conventional manual demining methods. By combining autonomous zig-zag scanning, sensor fusion, GPS-based mapping, and wireless communication, the invention enhances detection accuracy, reduces false alarms, and significantly minimizes human exposure to life-threatening conditions. The system is suitable for defense, humanitarian demining, and post-conflict safety operations.
