MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641072500 A) filed by The Principal, mepco Schlenk Engineering College on June 11, 2026, for Lactation Monitoring System For Breastmilk And Maternal Guidance.

Inventors include Dr. D. Santhi; E. Anjutha; and W. Graceline Esther.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT Breast milk serves as the essential nutritional source for infants while it enables their body growth and immune system development and their complete health progression. The composition of breast milk shows individual differences and changes throughout time, which can affect infant health outcomes when the changes remain unmonitored. The existing breast milk analysis methods need laboratory equipment for their testing process, which makes testing slow, costly, and difficult to access in multiple medical facilities. The research introduces an Breastmilk Nutrient Analysis And Maternal Guidance as a solution to this problem. The system functions as an intelligent device which performs real-time nutritional analysis of breast milk through its compact design. The spectral sensor captures optical properties of the milk sample, while the ESP32 processes the obtained data. The researchers used signal processing methods to determine the main components of the substances which included fats and proteins and lactose. The analyzed results become accessible through a web application, which enables healthcare professionals to track data remotely while efficiently managing their records. The system includes a display unit that shows results to users without any time delay. The solution provides an affordable and easyto- use solution which enables fast testing results through simplified testing methods that replace conventional laboratory testing, thus enhancing healthcare results for mothers and infants in areas with limited resources.
