Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: KURO - A PORTABLE TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED STORAGE DEVICE. The present invention discloses a portable temperature- controlled storage device for storing temperature-sensitive items comprising a storage chamber (2) to receive one or more said temperature-sensitive items, a coolant chamber (1) disposed contagious to said storage chamber (2) and accommodates a coolant, a vacuum insulation coating layer (3) surrounding the storage chamber (2) and the coolant chamber (1), an airflow path (7) under the coating layer (3) and extending between the coolant chamber (1) and the storage chamber (2) for establishing convective airflow therebetween including at least one fan (4) disposed in said airflow path (7), one or more temperature sensors (6) disposed to monitor temperatures of the storage chamber (2), the coolant chamber (1) and ambient surroundings and a controller (13) operatively coupled to the temperature sensors (6) and the fan (4), the controller (13) being configured to receive temperature measurements from the temperature sensors (6) and selectively operate the fan (4) to regulate the convective airflow and thereby control convective heat exchange between the storage chamber (2) and the coolant chamber (1) for maintaining an user defined storage temperature in the storage chamber (2).
