MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441097514 A) filed by Kalakshetra Foundation on December 10, 2024, for Kalakshetra Violet And Green Checks Saree.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The violet and green check saree is 5.5 meters length and 50 inches width. The warp and weft has green and violet yarn, a zari line to form checks of less than a quarter inch. The multi colour checks in the body with a long mustard border highlights the saree in this unusual colour scheme Border: The long mustard border is 9.5 inches. The border has rettai pettu with a one inch vanki design and muttu. It also has moopla pattern with neli design. The highlight is the araku background on the design which accentuates the design. Thalappu : The thalappu of the saree is 36 inches in mustard colour, while the inside thalappu is also 36 inches in violet colour. The main thalappu has 4 set seer, with four rows of vanki, and muttu in araku background. The center has seep reku in 3.5 inches. The inside thalappu has simple zari seer lines in violet colour and a band of yellow.
