Abstract: The present invention discloses a work machine (100) for irrigation of saplings (122) in silviculture. A work machine (100) comprises a chassis (106) along with a propelling unit (104) and ground-engaging elements (108). A hydrating module (111) is attached to the chassis (106). The hydrating module (111) comprises a hydrating fluid storage tank (110), a fluid delivery member (118) and a plurality of nozzles (160) arranged in series and parallel to the length (LL) of the work machine (100). An identifying unit (140) is provided to identify location of a sapling (142) on ground (120). The identifying unit (140) outputs a signal (144) when a sapling (122) is identified. The hydrating control unit (200) operates the plurality of nozzles (160) in sequence (300) such that the sprayed water from each nozzle reaches the identified sapling (122).
