The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT IRON-LOADED CHITOSAN NANOCOMPOSITE FOR POULTRY FEED MICRONUTRIENT SUPPLEMENTATION A poultry feed micronutrient composition comprising iron-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (CSNP-Fe) and a method for preparation thereof are disclosed. The nanocomposite is synthesised through ionic gelation of chitosan followed by complexation with ferric ions. The CSNP-Fe exhibits a hydrodynamic diameter of approximately 350.2 nm, an average particle size of 175 plus or minus 20 nm, a zeta potential of +43.2 mV confirming colloidal stability, and an iron content of up to 17.34 percent with a synthesis yield of 92.43 percent. Biocompatibility studies demonstrate cell viability exceeding 100 percent at concentrations up to 125 micrograms per millilitre and maintenance of intestinal epithelial barrier integrity. The nanocomposite provides enhanced iron bioavailability, mucoadhesive intestinal delivery, and efficient micronutrient supplementation for improved poultry growth, immune function, and health. [
