Abstract: The present invention relates to an iron-based nanosensor system designed for the photocatalytic degradation and detection of pesticide residues, particularly in field settings. The system comprises a sensor array with iron oxide nanoparticles that function as both photocatalysts and detection agents, offering high surface area and stability for effective pesticide interaction. A photocatalytic chamber, equipped with a UV or visible light source, maximizes light exposure to activate the nanoparticles, generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) to degrade pesticide molecules. The system includes a real-time detection and analysis module with an onboard processor that compares chemical changes in breakdown products against a database of known pesticide signatures, identifying the type and concentration of pesticides. A user interface and data storage component provides a digital interface for real-time result viewing and data storage, either locally or on a secure cloud. The portable system suits remote areas, minimizing sample contamination during transport.
