Abstract: ABTRACT Communication is a fundamental human need, yet for deaf and mute individuals, expressing themselves to those who do not understand sign language remains a significant challenge. This project proposes a smart wearable glove designed to bridge this communication gap by converting hand gestures into speech or text. The glove is equipped with flex sensors and an accelerometer to detect finger movements and hand orientation, which are processed by a microcontroller to identify predefined gestures. These gestures are mapped to corresponding phrases or words and converted into speech using a text-to-speech (TTS) engine, enabling realtime communication. The system aims to empower deaf and mute individuals by reducing their reliance on interpreters or caregivers, fostering independence and inclusivity. It is designed to be costeffective, portable, and user-rriendly, making it accessible to a broader audience. By providing a direct and efficient means of communication, the glove enhances social interaction and improves quality of life. Future improvements could include integration with mobile devices and machine learning to expand gesture recognition capabilities. This project represents a practical and innovative step toward creating inclusive solutions for communication challenges.
