Abstract: An IoT-enabled smart home monitoring and personal protection system is disclosed for solitary residents such as elderly individuals and working professionals living alone. The system comprises a gas sensor, a temperature sensor, a motion sensor and a presence sensor, each connected to a processing unit. The processing unit computes an Emergency Condition Score as a weighted combination of the gas risk, temperature risk, motion-inactivity risk and presence-anomaly risk derived from the respective sensor readings, and classifies the current condition as Normal, Warning, or Confirmed Emergency. When the computed score indicates a Warning or Confirmed Emergency condition, the system automatically generates and transmits an alert notification over the internet to designated family members, caregivers, or emergency contacts, enabling timely assistance and supporting safe, independent living.
