Abstract: This patent disclosure presents a novel loT-enabled Smart Helmet designed to enhance rider safety through continuous monitoring and automated emergency response. The proposed system integrates an embedded microcontroller with multiple sensors to detect alcohol consumption, verify proper helmet wearing, monitor rider drowsiness through wearable sensing, measure ambient temperature, and identify accident or emergency conditions. The collected sensor data is processed in real time to evaluate the rider's safety status and initiate appropriate actions based on predefined conditions. Whenever unsafe conditions such as alcohol detection, improper helmet usage, excessive drowsiness, or abnormal environmental conditions are identified, the system immediately generates warning alerts to the rider. In the event of an accident or emergency, the proposed helmet automatically transmits the rider's real-time location and emergency notification to predefined contacts through loT- based wireless communication, enabling faster emergency assistance. The proposed system combines rider monitoring, environmental sensing, and emergency alert mechanisms into a single integrated safety platform. Its modular and scalable architecture allows future integration with cloud-based monitoring and additional sensing technologies while maintaining low power consumption, compact size, and cost-effective implementation. The invention is applicable to motorcycles, bicycles, industrial safety helmets, and intelligent transportation systems for improving rider safety and reducing accident-related fatalities.
