MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109164 A) filed by Mangalayatan University, Aligarh; Mr. Priyanshu Sharma; Harsh Saxena; and Mr. Yash Varshney on September 11, 2026, for Iot-Enabled Proxy-Resistant Real-Time Attendance And Student Activity Monitoring System Using Wi-Fi And Face Verification.
Inventors include Mr. Priyanshu Sharma; Harsh Saxena; Mr. Yash Varshney; Mr. Arshil Noor; and Dr. Manoj Varshney.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to an IoT-enabled proxy-resistant real-time attendance and student activity monitoring system (100). The system comprises a teacher session activation and live dashboard module (1), an enrollment and captive-portal identity module (2), a Wi-Fi presence and session-continuity module (3), a face verification module (4), an attendance correlation and validation engine (5), a student activity and engagement monitoring module (6), a controlled network access module (7), and a centralized role-based academic data management module (8). Student attendance is maintained by repeatedly correlating Enrollment ID, classroom network presence, accumulated presence duration, available device/network information and face verification throughout an active lecture. A configurable lecture-duration criterion, preferably at least seventy percent, determines attendance eligibility. Temporary disconnections preserve session continuity. Academic network access, suspicious-activity alerts, engagement information and role-based reports are synchronized with the same classroom session, thereby reducing proxy attendance and manual classroom management effort.
