Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a system and method for automated waste segregation are disclosed, featuring a waste segregation system that identifies and separates waste into categories based on physical properties. The system includes a microcontroller for processing sensor input and controlling actuators, a sensor for detecting waste properties, and actuators for guiding waste 10 into appropriate compartments. An loT platform provides real-time data monitoring and control via a live dashboard. The system can detect moisture content using a rainfall sensor and employs pneumatic actuators. Visual indicators signal the status of waste compartments, distinguishing between dry and wet waste based on moisture content. FIG. 1 shows a technical drawing of an loT- Enabled Pneumatic automated waste segregation system 15 with labelled components. FIG. 2 shows the front view and isometric view of an loT- Enabled Pneumatic automated waste ' segregation system, highlighting the various parts of the waste segregation system. FIG. 3 illustrates an loT- Enabled Pneumatic automated waste segregation system with a moisture sensor, solenoid valve, cylinders, and compartments for dry and wet waste. 20 FIG. 4 shows the circuit diagram of the loT -enabled pneumatic waste segregation system. 25 FIG. 5 shows the electro-pneumatic sequential circuit of the loT -enabled pneumatic waste segregation system FIG. 6 is a flowchart showing the steps of automated waste segregation, including detection, moisture measurement, decision-making, and data logging
