MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106565 A) filed by Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute Of Engineering And Technology Vnrvjiet on September 04, 2026, for Iot Enabled Modular Bionic Arm With Web Controlled Finger Actuation And Adaptive Grip Feedback System.
Inventor includes Dr. Pranavanand.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an IoT enabled modular bionic arm system comprising a controller unit (110), Wi-Fi communication module (111), embedded web server (112), servo driver circuitry (114), finger actuators (115), printed hand structure (116), tendon linkage members (117), and feedback sensors (118). A user accesses a browser-based interface through a wireless device to issue commands corresponding to finger gestures. The controller converts commands into PWM outputs for operating servo motors, thereby moving selected fingers. Grip force and overload conditions are monitored using sensors to prevent damage and improve handling accuracy. The hand structure is lightweight, customizable, and manufactured by 3D printing. The system further supports gesture memory, multiple user profiles, remote updates, and rehabilitation operation modes. The invention provides a cost-effective prosthetic and robotic hand suitable for assistive technology, education, and research.
