Abstract: ABSTRACT IOT-ENABLED LOW-COST MOBILE ROBOT SYSTEM FOR AUTONOMOUS SEARCH AND RESCUE The present invention provides an IoT- enabled low-cost mobile robot system (100) for search and rescue operations comprising a master controller unit (110) on a single-board computer and a slave controller unit (120) on a microcontroller in a master-slave architecture. The master controller unit (110) performs LiDAR-based simultaneous localization and mapping through a SLAM processing module (114) and autonomous path planning through a navigation planning module (116). The slave controller unit (120) executes PID- controlled differential drive locomotion using fused encoder and inertial measurement unit (140) data. An IoT-based web dashboard (160) communicates via MQTT for real-time telemetry monitoring, computer vision-based task dispatch, and remote control by rescue operators. The system (100) features a 3D-printed chassis with ABS base plate and PLA upper deck for structural stability. The modular design enables integration of additional sensors for enhanced rescue capabilities at minimal cost. [
