MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511020447 A) filed by Secretary, Ministry Of Electronics And Information Technology, Govt. Of India.; and The Director General, Centre For Materials For Electronics Technology C-Met on March 06, 2025, for Iot Enabled Integrated Relative Humidity And Temperature Sensor System.

Inventors include Seema Ansari; Muralidharan Malamal Neelanchery; Muhammed Shafi S.; and Kalesh C. V..

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The system integrates a capacitive Relative Humidity (RH) sensor and an NTC thermistor-based temperature sensor within a single microcontroller interfacing mechanism, enabling remote monitoring through an IoT-enabled platform. The capacitive RH sensor changes its capacitance in response to humidity changes, providing accurate RH values. To ensure precision, the interfacing circuit incorporates a highly accurate capacitance measurement circuit. The NTC thermistor-based temperature sensor detects temperature, facilitating temperature compensation to enhance humidity accuracy in the application. The capacitance measurement utilizes a charge transfer-based acquisition principle. Alternatively, a capacitance measurement method using frequency output measurement of an astable multivibrator designed using a timer IC is also disclosed.
