Abstract: The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled helmet impact detection and emergency notification system configured to automatically detect road accidents involving two-wheeler riders and initiate rapid emergency communication. The system comprises a multi-axis motion sensing module, an ESP32 embedded controller, a Global Positioning System (GPS) module, a wireless communication interface, a cloud-based backend server, and an automated notification module. During operation, the motion sensing module continuously monitors acceleration and angular velocity to identify abnormal impact conditions associated with road accidents. Upon confirming an accident, the embedded controller acquires the geographical coordinates of the rider through the GPS module and transmits the accident information to the backend server using Wi-Fi communication. The backend server processes the received information and automatically generates emergency notifications containing the rider's location, accident details, and digital map links, which are transmitted to predefined emergency contacts and rescue authorities. The system further stores accident history and notification records for future analysis and remote monitoring. The modular architecture supports integration with mobile applications, cloud computing platforms, healthcare systems, intelligent transportation infrastructure, and future wearable technologies. The invention provides a reliable, scalable, economical, and practical rider safety solution that minimizes emergency response time, improves accident reporting accuracy, enhances rescue efficiency, and contributes to reducing fatalities through continuous IoT-enabled accident detection and automated emergency notification.
