Abstract: The invention relates to an IoT-enabled energy-efficient solar still for solar water distillation. Conventional solar stills may require manual supervision and may not optimise operation under varying solar and water conditions. The disclosed solar still comprises a distillation chamber, sensor unit, IoT controller, communication module, control unit, and distillate collection unit. Impure water is heated using solar energy in the distillation chamber, operating parameters are monitored by the sensor unit, sensor data is processed by the IoT controller, and the control unit controls operation for energy-efficient distillation. Distillate is collected in the distillate collection unit. The invention is useful for rural households, remote locations, agricultural sites, educational laboratories, decentralised water purification units, and users requiring solar-energy-based water distillation.
