Abstract: [051] The present invention discloses an IoT-enabled edge-intelligent smart campus system and method for context-aware attendance verification and resource tracking. Distributed RFID readers obtain identity and resource tag observations that are normalized and de-duplicated by an edge gateway. A locally maintained reader-zone model and context fusion engine correlate the observations with temporal, adjacency, timetable, occupancy, direction and authorization information to determine confidence for candidate state transitions. Person-related observations are converted into verified attendance events only upon satisfaction of an attendance policy, while resource observations are converted into resource-state or custody events according to resource transition rules. The edge gateway may adapt zone evidence parameters from confirmed transitions, generate exception scores for conflicting observations, pseudonymize routine identity data, and retain cryptographically linked event records during network unavailability. A synchronization manager subsequently transfers selected validated events to a campus server or cloud platform while suppressing duplicates and preserving local event sequence. The arrangement reduces false attendance and asset movement records, supports offline operation, lowers unnecessary transmission of raw tracking data and provides auditable edge decisions.
