Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an IoT-enabled adaptive rainwater harvesting and stormwater management system with intelligent water quality monitoring for efficient collection, treatment, storage, distribution, and quality assessment of harvested rainwater and stormwater. The system comprises a sensor module, an intelligent processing and control unit, an actuator and control module, water infrastructure components, a stormwater management section, and an alert and notification system. Multiple IoT sensors continuously monitor rainfall, hydraulic conditions, storage levels, environmental parameters, and water quality indicators. The intelligent processing unit employs machine learning and predictive analytics to estimate rainfall, runoff, storage utilization, contamination risks, and maintenance requirements while autonomously controlling valves, pumps, filtration units, treatment modules, recharge structures, and overflow systems. Cloud-based communication enables remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and real-time operational supervision. The invention improves rainwater harvesting efficiency, reduces urban flooding, maintains harvested water quality, minimizes manual intervention, enhances groundwater recharge, and provides a scalable, intelligent, and sustainable water resource management solution suitable for residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and smart city applications.
