MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621080925 A) filed by Symbiosis International Deemed University on June 30, 2026, for Iot Edge Gateway System For Ddos Attack Detection Using Traffic Flow Classification.

Inventor includes Dr. N. A. Natraj.

The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT IOT EDGE GATEWAY SYSTEM FOR DDOS ATTACK DETECTION USING TRAFFIC FLOW CLASSIFICATION The Present Invention Relates to an IoT network DDoS detection system (100) comprising a traffic flow analyser module (120) deployed on an edge gateway for extracting per-flow traffic features including packet rate, byte rate, flow duration, and inter-arrival time variance without deep packet inspection, an edge gateway classifier module (130) housing a decision tree classifier engine (170) constrained to five features and eight-level depth for classification of flows as normal or DDoS attack within edge hardware constraints, a network access control list updater module (140) for automated isolation of identified DDoS source addresses, an alert module (150) for administrator notification, and a cloud security platform (160) for forensic event logging. The system performs detection and isolation at the network edge without cloud round-trips. [
