The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT IOT-BASED SMART WASTE BIN MONITORING AND AUTOMATED COLLECTION ALERT SYSTEM The present invention discloses a smart waste management system (100) comprising a smart waste bin unit (110) integrated with an ultrasonic sensor module (120), an ESP32 microcontroller unit (130), a servo motor assembly (140), a power supply unit (150), a wireless communication network (160), and a web-based monitoring dashboard (170). The ultrasonic sensor module (120) measures the distance to the waste surface to determine the fill level. The microcontroller unit (130) classifies the bin state into empty, partially filled, or full based on configurable threshold values, and transmits the data via Wi-Fi to a cloud server (180). The web-based monitoring dashboard (170) displays real-time bin status and generates automated collection alerts upon full capacity detection. The servo motor assembly (140) enables touchless lid actuation for hygienic waste disposal. The system provides a cost-effective, scalable, and energy-efficient solution for smart city waste management. [
