Abstract: The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart system for detecting adulteration in turmeric powder using integrated sensing and data analysis techniques. The proposed system comprises a microcontroller unit, multiple sensors, image acquisition module, and cloud connectivity module for real-time analysis of turmeric purity. The system collects 10 color, moisture, conductivity, and optical characteristics of turmeric samples and cumpai es die obtained values with predefined purity parameters using machine learning or threshold-based algorithms. The processed data is transmitted through Wi-Fi/GSM communication to a cloud platform for remote monitoring and storage. The invention provides rapid, low-cost, portable, and real-time adulteration detection suitable for households, food industries, and quality 15 inspection authorities. The system minimizes manual testing complexity and improves food safety by identifying artificial colors, starch, chalk powder, metanil yellow, and other adulterants present in turmeric powder.
