Abstract: The IoT-Based Smart Sewage Monitoring System for Smart Cities is designed to provide an efficient and intelligent solution for real-time monitoring of sewage infrastructure. Traditional sewage monitoring methods rely on manual inspection, which is time consuming and may expose workers to hazardous conditions. The proposed system integrates IoT, sensor technology, wireless communication, cloud monitoring, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automate sewage monitoring and improve maintenance efficiency. The system uses sensors such as water level sensor, gas sensor, flow sensor, and temperature sensor to continuously collect sewage- related data, which is processed by an ESP32/Arduino-based microcontroller and transmitted to a cloud platform for remp' te access through a web or mobile dashboard. The system detects critical conditions such overflow, blockage, abnormal flow, and hazardous gas presence and generates real-time alerts for timely action. Additionally, AT and Machine Learning techniques can be used to analyze historical and real-time data, predict possible failures, and support preventive maintenance. The proposed system provides a cost-effective, scalable, and relia)le solution for improving sewage management, enhancing worker safety, reducing manual effort, and contributing to the development of cleaner and smarter cities.
