The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: Sewage workers are often exposed to dangerous environmental conditions such as toxic gases, low oxygen levels, high humidity, and confined spaces. These factors lead to serious health issues and, in many cases, fatal accidents due to the lack of continuous monitoring and delayed emergency response. Traditional safety measures rely on manual inspection and simple protective tools, which are not sufficient to provide real-time information or alerts about hazardous situations inside manholes. To address these challenges, this project proposes an loT-Based Smart Safety Monitoring System for Sewage Workers. The system integrates multiple sensors-including gas detectors, temperature and humidity sensors, and a MEMS motion sensor-to monitor the worker's surroundings and physical condition continuously. All sensed data are processed by a microcontroller and transmitted wirelessly to a remote monitoring station through the. internet. When. ยท abnormal values such as toxic gas leaks, temperature rise, oxygen drop, or worker fall are detected, immediate alerts are sent to supervisors via a mobile application. A two-way communication feature and a virtual emergency button further enable quick assistance during critical situations. The proposed system is designed to be compact, low-cost, and highly reliable for real-time field deployment. By providing continuous monitoring, instant alert mechanisms, and remote communication, the system significantly enhances the safety of sewage workers and reduces the risk of accidents. This loT -enabled solution aims to modernize existing safety practices and ensure a safer working environment in hazardous sewage operations. This loT-based system greatly reduces the risks faced by sewage workers by providing timely alerts and real-time monitoring. It helps authorities take faster decisions during emergencies and improves overall safety management. The solution is low-cost, reliable, and suitable for practical field implementation in hazardous sewage environments.
