Abstract: The present invention relates to an IoT-based smart pet monitoring and activity tracking system designed to continuously monitor pet activity, geographic location, and environmental conditions in real time using a compact wearable collar device. The system integrates motion sensing, location tracking, environmental monitoring, embedded data processing, wireless communication, and cloud-based monitoring within a single intelligent wearable platform. The system acquires motion and activity data using an accelerometer sensor (MPU6050), real-time location coordinates using a GPS module, and environmental data using a temperature sensor. These sensor signals are interfaced with and processed by an ESP32 microcontroller, which performs continuous data acquisition, signal processing, and wireless transmission of collected data to a remote cloud-based server using IoT communication protocols. The cloud-based server receives and securely stores the transmitted data and performs data analysis to monitor pet activity patterns, detect abnormal inactivity or excessive activity, and evaluate location information for geo-fencing functionality. The system enables detection of predefined safe zones and generates alert notifications when the pet moves outside designated boundaries. The analysed data and alert notifications are transmitted to a mobile or web-based monitoring interface, allowing pet owners to remotely monitor pet activity, location, and environmental conditions in real time. The system further enables long-term storage of activity and location history, allowing behaviour analysis, health monitoring, and pattern recognition over extended periods. This facilitates early detection of abnormal behaviour, potential health issues, or unsafe environmental conditions. The wearable device is powered through a regulated rechargeable battery supply, ensuring portable, continuous, and reliable operation without restricting pet movement. The proposed invention provides a fully integrated, intelligent, cloud-connected, and IoT enabled pet monitoring solution that enhances pet safety, enables real-time remote monitoring, improves health supervision, and reduces the risk of pet loss. The compact, lightweight, and wearable architecture makes the system suitable for continuous operation in domestic, veterinary, and animal care environments, providing an efficient and scalable solution for smart pet monitoring and activity tracking.
