Abstract: ABSTRACT IoT-BASED SMART ENERGY METER WITH REAL-TIME MONITORING, ANOMALY DETECTION, AND DEMAND RESPONSE NOTIFICATION The present invention provides an IoT-based smart energy meter system (100) for real-time electrical energy consumption monitoring, anomaly detection, and demand response notification. The system comprises a current transformer module (110) and a voltage measurement module (120) coupled to an edge microcontroller unit (130) for computing instantaneous power and cumulative energy at one-second resolution. An anomaly detection engine (180) resident on the edge microcontroller unit (130) performs threshold and pattern-based analysis to detect load spikes, off-hours consumption, and meter tampering signatures. A wireless communication module (140) transmits consumption data and anomaly flags to a cloud energy management platform (150), which processes demand response events and dispatches notifications through a demand response notification module (170) to a consumer mobile dashboard application (160). A data storage and reporting module (190) generates daily, monthly, and billing-period consumption reports accessible to consumers and utility operators. [
