Abstract: The use of electrical wires that have fallen, current leakage, and damaged electric poles is a serious public safety issue, especially during rainy conditions, floods, and natural disasters. The current power distribution system has a manual and reactive approach to fault detection and power disconnection, which is a serious issue regarding human life and property safety. The proposed invention is an IoT-Based Smart Electric Pole Safety and Accident Prevention System that allows real-time monitoring and automatic protection at the electric pole level. The system uses sensors to detect abnormal conditions such as current leakage, water touch, voltage anomalies, and pole tilt, which are then processed by a microcontroller to detect dangerous situations. Once a fault is detected, the system automatically switches off the power supply using a relay system, while also sending local notifications using visual and audio signals and sending fault notifications to a central monitoring dashboard using IoT communication. The proposed invention provides a preventive, intelligent, and scalable solution that improves public safety, reduces response time to accidents, and facilitates efficient management of electrical infrastructure in disaster-prone and urban areas.
