Abstract: IoT-based smart diaper monitoring system for detection and classification of human excreta The present invention relates to an IoT-based smart diaper monitoring system (1) comprising a disposable sensor strip (10) and a reusable electronic processing clip (20). The disposable sensor strip (10) includes screen printed conductive traces (102) forming front (103), middle (104), and back (105) sensing zones, terminating at a folded contact tab (106) with contact pads (107). The reusable clip (20) attaches externally to the diaper, utilizing pogo pins (209) to contact the pads (107) outside the diaper. A microcontroller (202) processes signals from the sensing zones (103, 104, 105), a VOC gas sensor (206), and a temperature sensor (207) to differentiate liquid urine from solid feces and calculate saturation percentage. The system prevents sensor degradation, eliminates fluid contact with electronics, and transmits real-time alerts via a wireless module (203).
