Abstract: In order to meet the demand for reliable electrical power systems, there has been a need for continuous and efficient monitoring of distribution transformers. Traditional transformer monitoring techniques involve regular, manual checks, but these can be inadequate for catching early signs of trouble, leading to unexpected failures, power outages, and maintenance expenses. This paper introduces an IoT Based Remote Transformer Health Monitoring System for remotely monitoring critical transformer parameter in real-time. The system that is proposed is a system which utilizes sensors to detect the conditions of the transformer parameters like temperature, oil level, voltage, current and load. A microcontroller gathers and evaluates sensor data, and shares it with a monitoring platform in the cloud via an IoT communication network. The information gathered can be accessed remotely, via a web or mobile interface, allowing operators to continuously evaluate operating conditions of the transformer. In the event of abnormal values or potentially hazardous conditions are detected, the system alerts the operator in real-time, for immediate preventative action. The proposed approach decreases the manpower requirement in manual inspection, increases the reliability of operation and safety of the transformers, and it facilitates the predictive maintenance of the transformers. The combination of IoT technology and transformer condition monitoring offers a cost-effective, scalable, and efficient solution to reduce transformer downtime and enhance the overall reliability of electrical power distribution networks..
