The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an IoT-based real-time steam trap monitoring and fault detection system configured to continuously monitor operating conditions of an industrial steam trap using temperature and vibration analysis. The system comprises a temperature sensing module positioned on or adjacent to the steam trap or associated pipeline, a vibration sensing module configured to detect mechanical vibration generated during steam trap operation, an ESP32 microcontroller configured to continuously acquire and process the sensor measurements, a wireless communication arrangement configured to transmit the acquired information, a remote monitoring platform configured to visualize operating parameters, and an alert module configured to generate fault indications during abnormal operating conditions. The temperature sensing module acquires thermal variations associated with the steam trap, while the vibration sensing module detects changes in mechanical vibration corresponding to steam flow, leakage, blockage, or irregular operating behavior. The ESP32 functions as a central data acquisition and processing unit and continuously receives the temperature and vibration measurements at predetermined intervals, processes the acquired information, and transmits the corresponding data through a wireless network to a remote or cloud-based monitoring platform. The monitoring platform provides real-time visualization of temperature, vibration, operating status, and parameter trends through graphical representations and status indicators, thereby enabling remote observation of steam trap operating conditions. The system further comprises a fault detection arrangement configured to compare the acquired temperature and vibration values with predefined operating limits and identify abnormal conditions including excessive vibration, abnormal temperature variations, sudden parameter fluctuations, or other predefined operating deviations. Upon detection of a potential fault condition, the alert module generates a local or remote notification through suitable indicators including a buzzer, LED, dashboard notification, or remote notification mechanism. The acquired monitoring information may additionally be logged for historical analysis, condition assessment, and maintenance planning. By integrating temperature sensing, vibration monitoring, ESP32-based data acquisition, wireless communication, remote visualization, threshold-based fault detection, and automated alert generation into a unified IoT monitoring architecture, the invention enables continuous condition monitoring and early identification of steam trap abnormalities, thereby reducing dependence on periodic manual inspection, supporting timely maintenance intervention, minimizing steam and energy losses, and improving the reliability and operational efficiency of industrial steam systems.
