Abstract: The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT)-based healthcare monitoring system designed for continuous nocturnal monitoring of patients and real-time emergency alert generation. The system comprises an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with a MAX30102 sensor for heart rate and blood oxygen saturation monitoring, an ADXL345 accelerometer for fall detection, a DHT11 sensor for temperature and humidity measurement, a DS3231 real-time clock module, an LCD display, a buzzer alert mechanism, and a wireless communication module. The system continuously acquires physiological and environmental parameters during patient sleep and compares the measured values against predefined thresholds to detect abnormal conditions. Upon detection of any abnormal event, local alarms and cloud-based notifications are automatically generated and transmitted to caregivers through a mobile application. The invention enables remote health monitoring, real-time patient surveillance, rapid emergency response, and improved healthcare accessibility. The system provides a cost-effective, scalable, and user-friendly solution suitable for home healthcare, hospitals, elderly care centers, and remote patient monitoring applications.
