Parthiban on August 10, 2026, for Iot-Based Intelligent Network Security Device For Real-Time Threat Detection And Intrusion Prevention.

Inventors include Dr. P. Ananthi; Dr. K. Nirmala Devi; and Dr. S. Parthiban.

The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides an IoT-based intelligent network security device for real-time detection and prevention of cyber threats across heterogeneous IoT environments. The device continuously monitors communication traffic associated with IoT devices and establishes individual behavioral profiles based on communication patterns, protocols, endpoints, ports, traffic rates, and historical activity. A hybrid threat detection mechanism combines signature-based, rule-based, and machine-learning-based anomaly analysis to identify known and evolving threats. A threat correlation module associates suspicious events across devices and temporal intervals to identify coordinated or multi-stage attacks. A dynamic threat scoring module evaluates anomaly severity, detection confidence, device criticality, historical deviations, and correlated events to determine threat severity. An adaptive intrusion prevention module automatically performs traffic limiting, endpoint restriction, communication blocking, session termination, or device quarantine. A controlled learning mechanism updates security profiles using validated events while preventing unverified events from directly modifying security models.
