MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611104138 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 29, 2026, for Iot-Based Insectpredator Detection System.
Inventor includes Kommanaboyina Bhanuprakash.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an IoT-based insect/predator detection and automated crop protection system for monitoring agricultural fields and detecting insects, pests, predators, or wildlife. The system comprises a camera coupled to an edge processing unit, such as an ESP32-CAM or Raspberry Pi, for locally processing captured image information and identifying potential threats using motion-based and/or intelligent detection criteria. Upon qualification of a detection event, a local alert arrangement comprising a visual indicator and audible output provides an immediate response, while a wireless communication interface transmits event information to a remote monitoring platform for user notification and data logging. A controllable switching arrangement further activates a deterrent actuator such as a mini water pump, spray nozzle, repellent dispenser, or other actuator. The system may include solar power, energy storage, additional sensors, and a weather-protective enclosure, thereby providing a low-cost, modular, energy-efficient, and field-deployable solution for automated crop monitoring and protection.
